Dominican Friars Published in Angelicum Journal

May 27, 2015

Two articles written by friars of the Province of St. Joseph have been published in the latest volume of the Angelicum, a publication of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.  Fr. Reginald Lynch, O.P. wrote on “Domingo Bañez on Moral and Physical Causality: Christic Merit and Sacramental Realism” and Fr. Austin Litke, O.P. on “Christological Ressourcement: The Development of St. Thomas’s Doctrine of Instrumentality.”  The table of contents of the volume may be found here. The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas grew out of a Dominican studium established in Rome in 1222.  It is commonly called the Angelicum due to its association with the Angelic Doctor, who, in his own lifetime, served as the Order’s regent of studies in Rome and, after his canonization and being named Doctor of the Church, was named the school’s patron in 1577.  The university has published the Angelicum journal since 1923 and its current editor is Fr. Pius Pietrzyk, O.P., a friar of the Province of St. Joseph.
