Dominic Legge, O.P., on Nostra Aetate

November 12, 2015

Fifty years ago, the Second Vatican Council (1962-1969) released Nostra Aetate (literally: “in our time”), one of the Church’s most important documents regarding interreligious dialogue, especially with Judaism. It recognized the importance of religious questions for human beings and for human society, reminded the world that the Jewish people have a genuine vocation as the chosen people of God who are entrusted with revelation and have an irrevocable calling, and proclaimed that all truth, wherever it is found, is a reflection of a ray of the truth, which is Jesus Christ. Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P., was recently interviewed on EWTN News Nightly, discussing Nostra Aetate. Fr. Legge is the Assistant Director of the Thomistic Institute, and teaches at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.
